It shows off yon video, a load of screenshots and fun pictures, a (new, smarter) Gaslamp Games mailing list signup (which you should sign up on to get steaming hot news straight from the boiler, plus insinuations about alpha testing). The site will be updated with all kinds of awesome stuff as development proceeds!
Our first website was a labor of necessity: we needed a quick and easy way to impart some of our weird sense of personality while keeping you guys up to date on the stuff we were working on. This time we decided to spend some time getting the site up as we always wanted it to be. Classier, friendlier, and maybe a little more eccentric.
A tremendous “Thank You!” to the folks at Chestnut St. Pixel Foundry for putting up with our demanding requirements regarding the look and feel of the site; they did a great job of capturing the “Gaslampyness” of Gaslamp Games in the redesign of the site and rebranding of our company. (You saw the new logo, right?) Props also to their production assistant Stephanie Larsen who drew some lovely background illustrations of Dredmor paraphernalia that will appear, appropriately, at random. (Blatant plug: Go hire them and her, respectively, for your web design and illustration that needs doing.)
Also, as ever, a big thanks to Derek for the behind-the-scenes database DJing, without his work things like changing the website would be laborious hours of downtime and mass-confusion.
The battle for supremacy between Good and Evil has now spread from your computer… onto your chest.
Yes! Dungeons of Dredmor shirts are now available, from the good people at TopatoCo. Choose from one of four scintillating designs, covered in David’s lavish artwork, and printed on high quality shirts of Tee. Show your Diggle Hate! Encrust yourself with the rune of the Lutefisk God! Show the world that you need more mana, and must drink more booze – perfect for those wizardly pub crawls.
But wait, there’s more. You can *also* buy yourself a swanky pack of Dredmor stickers – five stickers, for six dollars.
Dungeons of Dredmor is now available for Windows and 32-bit/64-bit Linux on Desura! Yes, that’s right, we’re on the best thing to come out of Australia since Mann Co. Buy it now, play it on Windows, and enjoy the Linux version as soon as the Desura client for Linux is out of beta testing. (They tell me that this should be any day now.)
Better yet, we’ll sweeten the pot! Click this button, and get Dungeons of Dredmor for 10% off – this week only! That’s right – you can go out and buy yourself Dungeons of Dredmor for only $4.49.
Awhile back there was a comment that we needed a forum. I dug around and came up with bbPress which was simple but devoid of any features and was a waste of space. Our current forums, Vanilla, were a quick and dirty upgrade which we thought wouldn’t get much use. How wrong we were.
Tonight at 8pm Pacific time I will be locking the forums and stopping all new user registrations in preparation of the new software, XenForo. In this time I will be importing all users from WordPress, our current master database, into XenForo. Your passwords will be maintained through this move but feel free to change your password after the move.
Sorry for any inconvenience and we hope to welcome new members to our community soon.
UPDATE 1 – (August 1st, 2011): I have painstankely re-added missing users to the forums. I am going to keep new user registration closed until I am sure everyone who is already here can log in and post without issue.
As before if you have any issues please let me know at webmaster (at) gaslampgames.com.
As Dungeons of Dredmor approaches a release – and yes, folks, it will still be before Duke Nukem Forever – we have put together this fabulous new trailer to show you what we’ve been working on.
Additionally, we now have a website up at http://www.dungeonsofdredmor.com where you are encouraged to sign up to be notified the moment that Dredmor ships – and, as an added bonus, if you enter your e-mail in our handy little drop-box, you will automatically be entered into our free Dredmor give-away contest. Go check it out!
