More WordPress Hacking, Now with Tastier Facebook Posts

It has been quite awhile since my last post and that can only mean one thing, tons of boring server side work that no one but myself cares or understands. Thankfully I have something to share with the masses!

Previously we submitted all of our blog posts to Facebook company page via a plugin that essentially emailed them. While it fit the bill for ease of use I really didn’t like the way the posts looked. In order to change this I spent tons of time digging around the Facebook developer section. Ideally I wanted to be able to use an API key so that I could simply use a very simple PHP script. Turns out at one time you could actually do this, probably two or three years ago. Now the way to do this is that you have to create an application and and allow that application within your Facebook company page. Thankfully this has already been done with WPBook. A few lines of hacked PHP for customization and BAM! We have a nice streamlined process for submitting our blog entries to Facebook. Take a look.
